Skills and know-how shaping the future of industrial distribution

Priver's story has deep roots, beginning in the late '70s within Europe's largest steel mill. Our first technological venture was in hydraulics. Over time, facing various technical challenges, we expanded our know-how to different technologies, evolving from product sales to design systems and installations.

The industrial context of Priver's starting point, a steel mill, provided a wide range of processes and technological applications. This environment represented a great chance to learn and develop a solid technical background. The variety of plant problems we addressed greatly enriched and deepened our technical know-how.

In the early years, Priver was a distributor a bit different from the others. Our strength lies in our technical know-how, allowing us to understand processes and identify plant issues to propose innovative solutions. It allowed us not just to sell products, but to offer engineered solutions.

Our partnership with Parker, a world leader in motion and control technologies, began in 1982. This collaboration has helped Priver and Parker to strengthen over the years their cooperation and identities. Parker is known for its reliability and high-quality, technologically advanced products.

Our growth path has seen the introduction of various Parker technologies, from pneumatics to electromechanics, to the generation of technical gases. This development has led to the evolution of the company's technical area, allowing us to offer a complete set of turnkey solutions.

The generational change in Priver was a crucial moment. We don't see it as a simple change of management, but as a phase of development and evolution. We planned this transition carefully, involving the entire company and ensuring it was not just a change of job title, but a real transfer of know-how and values.

One of the main goals I set was to value the human aspect within the company. I firmly believe that the people working in Priver are not just employees but represent its very essence. For this reason, we introduced a mental coach to support our team, to ensure a calm and collaborative work environment.

Today, Priver offers a wide range of solutions, thanks to various Parker technologies. We have a team of 15 engineers with diverse skills, working cross-functionally with our clients, always offering new solutions.

Training and developing new skills has always been at the center of our mission. It is an aspect rooted in the company's identity that began its first training activities in the '80s.

Still today we have training classrooms: one in Taranto that has more than 50 seats and one in Bari with 40 seats. Both are computerized and connected telematically, which allows them to be used simultaneously.

Looking towards innovation, Priver is embracing new technologies that Parker identifies as "Secular Trends": hydrogen, electrification, and thermal management. These three areas represent the future of the company, and we are convinced they will impact all industries and production processes.

While hydrogen represents a new direction, electrification and thermal management are evolutions of existing technologies. Priver's goal is not only to diversify into these areas but also to examine and include them in our business. This involves hiring professionals with specific skills and know-how to lead such initiatives.

For us, industrial distribution means offering not just products, but engineered solutions that meet customer needs. The commercial aspect and material availability are important, but they come after a technical activity of support to the customer. This is the commitment that I, and all my collaborators, put into our work every day.
